Dear Tamas,
I’m sending you my little book on depression, thinking (a) that you might like to read it, and (b) that you might want to have it translated into Hungarian. It was published a few weeks ago, in early September, and its career – for an 84 page book, horribly overpriced – has been astonishing. Last week it was #1 bestseller in the United States and is still holding its own as the leading non/fiction bestseller. Incroyable. I st some might, vein or mother lode, and while I did expect the book to do well, I did not anticipate much an overgrowing response. 125,000 copies already.
I hope to come to Hungary before too long, and will expect the red carpet treatment you promised.
Let the orgy begin! Let the Tokaj flow!
Stay in touch. I’ll be at my other address by the time you get this message. Roxbury, Corn. 86783.
As ever,
Bill
